Each avoided fight is a battle won. You will then indeed be still unscathed.
Avoid danger, make a detour.
Or run away. If you can run. Long and hard enough. That is not always a good option.
Find shelter.
Find something that you can use as a weapon.
Search supporters.
If you expect danger, then be prepared for it. Do not go out alone. Find a weapon before you go out.

In the following situations, we assume that a fatal confrontation with an aggressor is inevitable, and that you are alone and (almost) in unarmed state. A situation of kill or be killed. Being careful then has no sense anymore. Only self-preservation. You must turn off the danger.
