We are bombarded with cooking programs and cookbooks.
Recipes you will hardly find here, even less about trimming dishes.
However, some basic preparations: from raw material to in the kitchen usable product.

Summer is an excellent time to clean all tools and packaging used to harvest, process and preserve food, thoroughly with soapy water and to dry them a few days in full sun. UV is deadly for most organisms. At warm, sunny weather and with a large tub it is a fine and rewarding job. The water can on the compost heap.

And also give the food and water bowls, water and feed tons of the animals regularly a hefty scrubbing. Also stables and storage cellars can then be cleaned, the floors sanded and walls possibly whitened.

When you prepare food to preserve it for a long time, as to make cheese, 40% of the work will be the washing and cleaning of used stuff and space. It’s also very important when you dry meat, make beer and wine, make butter, pickle, ...

Pay close attention to tools that you use to prepare food for storage. It must be spotless, otherwise you spoil stock. Pay particular attention to
preserving jars, lids, bottles, (cereal) boxes
Meat hooks, (parts of) meat grinder, even the steel to sharpen knives
The wash/cleaning material itself: the dish-towel (dishcloth), scourer, dish brush, dishpan!
Wooden cutting boards, wooden utensils, knife handle: allow to dry after washing
Refrigerator itself (according to research one of the largest bacteria farms in the home)
Can opener (used regularly, rarely washed, ’is still not dirt’)
