At a party we like not just candy and cake, also savory snacks. Which you can make yourself. With a few basic recipes and some creativity, you can vary endlessly.

Beignets
snackBeignetsPut 250g flour and 1 teaspoon salt in a bowl and add 1 egg. Mix and add a second egg. Subsequently, two tablespoons of oil and as much sugar. Gradually add 250 ml of milk until you have a smooth batter without lumps. Let the batter rest for at least 1 hour. (You can omit sugar (and add vegetables or herbs) for a hearty snack.
Cover pieces of bread or fruit (apple, banana, pear, orange ..) with the batter and fry for 3 minutes in hot oil in a deep frying pan. Drain and sprinkle with powdered sugar. (Without fruit core is the Dutch doughnut  'smoutebollen’ (be) or oliebollen (nl).)

Coated peanuts or nibble nuts
A crispy jacket you make with a thick pancake batter and finely ground herbs. Blend to taste flour, baking powder, garlic, sugar, salt and black pepper (paprika, wasabi, ..). Beat an egg in there. Roll the nuts (possibly several times) in it. Let them drip off and bake. In oil. Or on a baking tray in the oven (180° C) or in the microwave oven, but they then stick more easily to each other. You can also do it without batter, just work with spicy oil.
Or use chickpea (garbanzo (pea) (Cicer arietinum) is an edible legume (subtropical, Mediterranean)), hazelnuts, almonds, mashed potatoes (like a croquette), cheese, cauliflower, ...
Also nice: fried edible leaves.

Popcorn
Corn will pop at 200° C. Put a dash of corn germ oil in a wok or pot and let the oil get hot (just start smoking). Test: put some corn kernels in the pan. If revolving immediately or roasting, the pan is hot enough.
Put a layer of corn in the pot and immediately sprinkle sugar over it. The volume becomes 8x more! Put a lid on the pot and let the corn roast until it is silenced. Then turn off the heat completely. There may be used some sugar or salt.

Salty biscuits or sticks
Make dough from 100 g flour, ½ cup water, 50 g butter and 6 g salt. Roll a piece of ± 4mm thick and cut strips of ± 3 cm. Place on a greased baking tray and brush with egg. Garnish with almonds, salt, cheese, biscuits .... ± 15 minutes in a hot oven (200° C.)

Potato chips
Cut firm potatoes into thin slices (using a mandolin slicer ..). Dry with a towel. Cook for 3 minutes in frying oil to 180 degrees. Stir them loose during baking. Drain and dry. Add to taste garlic seasoning, salt, ..
You can also bake approximately 10 minutes (on each side) in the oven. It might even in 5 to 10 minutes in the microwave at 750 Watt. For a fun color you can also use red or blue potatoes.

Apple Chips
Cut apple slices. Add flavor to before and / or after baking with a little cinnamon, sugar, lemon ... Put them not on each other, but side by side on a baking sheet. Bake (dry) them 60 minutes at 100 to 180C for each side.

Corn chips or tortilla chips, doritos, nachos
Knead 125g corn flour with 100 ml of hot water, salt and pepper to a ball. (The dough may rest in between.) Cut the ball of dough in two and press flat. Roll the disc thin with a rolling pin or bottle between baking paper. Remove the baking parchment, cut the dough into triangles and let it dry out.
Heat peanut oil in a pan and sear the tortilla chips quickly tight. About one minute on each side, until they get some color. Drain and sprinkle with paprika and others spices.

Dip or salsa
Cream cheese or tomato can be mixed fine (blender) accompanied by all sorts of spices and flavors like garlic, grated cheese, onion, lettuce ...

Snacks, crackers, skewers
Carot, chicory leaf, celery stalk, cauliflower, broccoli, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, asparagus
Cheese cubes, cantaloupe, grapes, strawberries, blackberries, currants
Acid or acid-imposed sweet pickles, onions, beetroot slices
Sticks (toothpicks) with combinations of what is above, slices rolled pancake
Dried fruits and nuts
Toast (rusk, toasted bread, slice, baguette) with (herbs, cheese, egg, chopped nuts, honey, jam, ..)
or grape leaf, slice of cucumber, endive leaf with ...
Pieces of pizza, quiche ...
Mayonnaise (or yogurt) is an excellent base to make dips and spicy cocktail sauce.

Life is a party, but you have to hang the garlands.
