A dislocation is a movement of the articular surface of a bone from its normal position in the joint, without breakage. By fall the joint head (usually from shoulder or elbow) can shoot from the joint socket. Joint membrane, joint capsule and ligaments can tear.
The joint is in a strange position and is abnormal fixed.
It is painful and swelling occurs. There may also be an internal bleeding. Provide support and rest the affected joint with, depending on location and position, a sling (shoulder, elbow).
Usually, the shoulder can be positioned back by certain movements. Sometimes surgery is needed. Let rest in a sling.
