creosootschoorsteenCreosote is obtained by the distillation of tar oil. The residue is tar. The composition of creosote oil varies depending on the distillation method and the origin of tar oil. Sometimes oil is added. Creosote is more workable than tar oil. The deposition of tar in a flue is creosote.
